Local 14 ~ Show & Sale

"Lemons & Limes" 6x6" Pastel on sanded paper

"Three's A Crowd" 9x9" Pastel on sanded paper

Here are my latest pieces that will be at the Local 14 show this coming weekend. I've been busy putting together my inventory of 20 pieces of art: framing, documenting, labeling, and pricing each piece. Each year in the Fall, Local 14 has opened it's doors featuring hand crafted art created by women . The opening fete starts at 6 pm on Thursday evening for first bites on the many incredibly beautiful pieces. I'm going to be there to help out on the opening night. The show runs Thursday 6-9 pm, Friday 10 am ~ 9 pm, Saturday 10 am ~ 5 pm, and Sunday 10 am ~ 5 pm. Hope to see you there!

Your pastels are wonderful, Brenda! I worked in pastels quite a bit many years ago, but settled into oils and watercolors. Thank you for your kind comment at my blog.

Hi Don,
Curious, so why not pastels? I'm curious to know why you have settled into oils and watercolors. I find this interesting dialogue.

if only i could... but it is a bit far for me to get to. i see you have been quite busy tidying. the previous posts were wonderful and these fruits are stunning... i especially like the colour combinations you have used, they work so well together. r.
ps in relation to the above comment about pastels, personally i end up with more pastel on my face than on paper (ok not a good excuse)... actually i do the same with oils:)

Thanks Rahina,
The opening was really well attended (Thurs eve) and saw a few faces from long ago.
I too get a lot of pastel flying around but now use a filter.
