Opening at Attic Gallery, Feb 5 and 6th

The past month I have painted A LOT for some upcoming shows!  I will be having 2 openings of this month and am thrilled to present my newest gallery, Attic Gallery, to my growing list of venues. Here is the flyer for the Attic Gallery on Feb 5 and 6th.

I am so proud to formally unveil twelve of my urban inspired plein air works in oil at Attic Gallery for the month of February. These pieces were all completed on location as I observed the city in it's parts as the urban landscape continues to draw my attention. I will also be including 5 larger studio pieces in pastel to make this show complete.

This Preview or "soft opening" will be held on Wednesday, February 5th. Unfortunately, Portland's First Thursday Gallery Walk coincides with the opening of the Winter Olympics on February 6th. Attic Gallery will continue to hold it's formal opening date on "First Thursday" February 6th.  I will be at both openings from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.

Wednesday Feb 5th
Thursday Feb 6th
6:00-8:30 pm

So come on out to help me celebrate my hard work at the Preview night at Attic Gallery on Wednesday, February 5th, --- OR--- First Thursday February 6th.  Located at 206 SW 1st Ave, Portland, OR.

Attic Gallery is conveniently located along the MAX line.

June's First Thursday at Dan Saltzman's office

Dan Jones and artist Brenda Boylan

Mary, Me (Brenda), and Patty

My First Thursday reception at the office of Commissioner Dan Saltzman was a quick and speedy "2 hour" opening! If you are visiting downtown Portland, you can still go in to City Hall and see the work for the rest of the month of June, and is on view during regular business hours. City Hall is a beautiful building and is host to a few other artists located in some of the other city employee's offices as well. A number of friends and art lovers came out to visit me and view my pastel works on sandpaper. Above, are my artist friends Mary and Patty, from the Village Art Gallery critique group, who came out to support me at the show. Thanks ladies! And "Thanks" to the many people who came out to support me! The show will be up until June 30th.

Art of the Pittock Mansion

Grand Staircase, Pittock Mansion (with Halloween cobwebs)

Today I was asked if my quick color study #5 (posted 12/14/07) could be used in an email announcement for the Pittock Mansion's Art show~"Shadow & Light". This will be a joint juried show at both The Broderick Gallery and the Pittock Mansion on Portland's First Thursday, March 6th, 2008. I have formally titled the piece "Petit De'jouner de Blu" which literally translates to "Blue Breakfast". The juror will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons voted by visitors. I hope to enter 3 pieces, one which I am currently working a color study...to be posted later....and the other one is posted 12/11/07~Color Study #3. (Lemons)

Here are the details:

Show dates: March 1~31st, 2008 at Broderick
March 1~June 30th, 2008 at Pittock Mansion
Artist Receptions at both locations~March 6th, 2008

Broderick Gallery, 814 SW 1st Ave, Portland, OR
Pittock Mansion, 3229 NW Pittock Drive Portland, OR

Anyway, I hope to be at one of the receptions on March 6th. That will have be announced once I know where/if the pieces will hang. Oh, and the image above is the grand staircase dressed in cobwebs~hung for a Halloween tour.
